Flows much better as an album than what the critics would have you believe. Some really great songs on here and excellent hooks. Better than Versions, and whilst has some 80's references is definately current!!

First of all, I am not a Mark Ronson fan as I have not really listened to his stuff before. The only reason I bought this album is because of his current involvement with Duran Duran. I did by the single Bang Bang Bang which I did not really get into. I bought the album with trepidation, but I am certainly glad I did! I'm an 80's kid and it really does evoke strong memories of the time, but with a modern twist. I think that Ronson has done an excellent job overall in capturing the feelings of that particular decade. The songs with Boy George and Simon Le Bob (Somebody to Love me and Record Collection) are especially good and laced with a heavy sense of irony. I have no idea what previous Ronson albums are like, so maybe fans of his may be disappointed. However if you want to hear a modern take on all musical genres of the 1980's you will not be disappointed at all. Great album.
  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TRUMPETS?

I swear the trumpets from Version have disappeared. I WANT THE TRUMPETS BACK. Anywho, just to let you know, The Colour of Crumar sounds a lot like the backing track of a Pokemon game.

Everything this man touches turns to gold. This album is no exception. I had the fortune to see him and the business international in Bristol and they are even better live. The amazing vocals from Rose Enlinor Dougall on the night last night, the catchy nature of circuit breaker and the bike song and the heartfelt lyrics of somebody to love me. Not a song I didn't like. Well worth the money and even better if you get the chance to see them live, don't hesitate!!!
